Word On The Street: Halifax
30 June 2006
I have lived in Halifax for 21 years ...
... I'm currently in the British army so I have experienced a lot of places around England and abroad but nowhere I have been comes close to the community feel and sense of wellbeing I get from Halifax.
I really do miss the place and look forward to my leave so I can come home to the best town.

It's a lovely place to live great night life, good shopping, near local towns...
Only 20 mins to Leeds, 35 mins to Manchester and 10 mins from motorway. Lots of good schools, loads of jobs and job opportunities.

Halifax is very compact...
... loads of bars and clubs for a little town. Really close to big Cities for commuting such as Manchester and Leeds.
Shopping is not the best but hop on a train and you are in shopping paradise. All in all, a nice little town!!

Lots of villages with character housing on the outskirts...
Friendly, local Yorkshire town. Excellent M62 access to Leeds/Manchester and not far from M1 links. Beautiful countryside.

Lots of work available. Several pubs and clubs for a good night out...
Good theatre. Average shopping. Good rail and bus links to Leeds, Manchester and Bradford. Excellent walking routes and breath-taking scenery on the doorstep of the town.
