Word On The Street: Grimsby
08 December 2008
I was born (1960) and raised in Grimsby but moved to West Yorkshire in 1998 and then to Spain in 2004 ...
Having lived in other places I have begun to appreciate just what a safe and pleasent environment Grimsby and N E Lincs actually are.
My husband and I are desperate to return even though we will leave behind the Spanish sun, our lovely home complete with swimming pool and over an acre of land half way up a mountain with gorgeous views. Anyone want to swap?

I moved to Grimsby from Sheffield 20 years ago...
I now call Grimsby home. I love living here and I believe great things will happen in our town. Every blessing to all in Grimsby!

I lived in Grimsby for 10 years...
...and I am looking to move there again I'v been married for 7 years and have a 2 year old and a 6 year old and I wouldn't pick anywhere else to raise my kids other than Grimsby. We love Grimsby and the way people are, very friendly, and everything you need is within walking distance to town. Thanks, Mrs. Nantais.

I have lived in Great Grimsby all my life...
...and can't understand why at the beginning of this page some one has written "it's suprisingly pleasant" why would they be suprised? Please let me know what they expected to find here. Unpleasant smelly fishermen and fisherwomen, I wonder.
It's a lovely place to live and work, some of the best restaurants in Lincolnshire, some of the best entertainment facilities, brilliant schools, and all the well known high street stores. As for culture it's the same as anywhere - if you want it it's there. ANN, GREAT GRIMSBY.

Grimsby is a surprisingly pleasant place to live...
For the last 15 years it has had a burgeoning feeling of being a place of growth, enterprise and a definite part of the 21st century. Its people tend to be confident and outgoing (sometimes outspoken!). There are pleasant restaurants, beautiful countryside, good sports facilities and a reasonable amount of culture.
