I've lived in Altrincham all my life…
…It's a really nice area. The new shopping area of George St will be complete soon with all the top end stores. The bars are good but few so a few more would really liven it up. For restaurants Hale is one of the best places for eating in the north west and only 1 min away!

I live in Altrincham, and its a really good place to live ...
... Close enough to schools, supermarkets, bars and restaurants but also within easy reach of the countryside. Great links to Manchester airport, motorways and Trafford centre.
Altrincham centre is currently under renovation, and it'll be great when it's finished - there will be a cinema, ice rink and loads more shops, restaurants and bars.

It's just a really brilliant place - nice people, safe, lively and lots of great pubs and restaurants.

Great place, 20 mins from Manchester City Centre on the tram ...
... 10 mins from Manachester Airport, 10 mins from the M6, 5 mins from the M56 - 2 mins from the Cheshire countryside - great bars, restaurants. Good live music scene.
Fabulous place.

I love Altrincham! ...
... I originally come from Hungary but moved to Manchester a few years ago. I just love shopping and going out in Altrincham. I think this town has just everything in every aspect. I just wish the renting prices weren't that expensive. I would happily move to Altrincham if I could afford it! So if you can, do it!

I grew up in the Altrincham area and think it is a great place to live ...
... I now live in Surrey and wince at the property prices. There are great links to Manchester and you're not too far to the lovely countryside of the Peaks, the Lakes and North Wales.
The only downside is the shopping in Altrincham itself - it's getting quite run down and most people shop in Manchester, the Trafford Centre or round Wilmslow way. So, if you're thinking of moving there, I'd say go for it. We'll be moving back there eventually!
