The city centre is great for shopping, and yet something about the energy of this place seems to be lacking!?

Peoplewise - I found that a lot of the people I've met from norwich seem quite reserved. Also for those of you are who are into spiritual stuff or affected by the energetics of a place - some people seem to find this an energeically tricky place to live.

I guess it comes down to whether you like the vibe of the people and the place - more than whether you like shopping and architecture.

…It has developed so much in the last two years. There is a new beautiful Chapelfield Mall which is great and there is still the old one, Castle Mall. Norwich is fantastic for shopping. Everything is close by and it is very safe.

It is a very scenic city, still with a traditional market and lots of churches, old buildings including the Norwich Cathedral and the Norwich Castle.

Very easy place to make friends. Quality of life is excellent. 20 min to the Norfolk Broads, 25 min to the seaside, and lots of countryside in a 10 min drive.

... Friendly, great for making friends and easy to go to the countryside, or 2 hours to London Liverpool Street. There are 2 malls there too and lots of little cafes. Very creative city with one of the best art schools.

... Apart from the small groups of youths in the centre and a couple of estates, the city itself is a very nice place.

Working is good, with loads of industrial estates, shops, office blocks, pubs, clubs - I could go on forever. There's something for everybody here.

It's quiet in most places and busy during the day, like any standard city, but it's also kept clean and is always moving forward.

I've also lived in Scunthorpe and North Wales, but Norwich is home and I don't think I'd ever like to leave for good!

I moved there from London ten years ago and the quality of life in comparison is superb.

It is generally a lovely place to live. The only problem is there isn't much in the way of career opportunities and local employers know it. If you get a good employer there is probably nowhere else in the UK as pleasant to live.

Word on the Street: Norwich

It is a thriving city, with a great night life, shops etc.

Despite being a city, it always feels very, very safe here.

I moved here from London 3 years ago and will never go back. You can't beat its mix of city and rural living (i've just come home after a day at the beach -25 minutes away). Norwich has that perfect balance between modern facilities for a 21st century city, and having an historical friendly feel.

Norwich is a beautiful city and has plenty to offer everyone. You cannot be on benefits here for too long as there are plenty of jobs available. You only need to look. I live around the Magdalen Street area and this in itself offers a mini market and has plenty of shops to suit everyone. Norwich for me is the best city and I for one will never move from here.

Brilliant shopping (excluding the most upmarket retailers). Safe, clean, most small city amenities - provincial not cosmopolitian.
