... My parents live there still and I visit them from time to time and catch up with friends I grew up with. It's amazing how much I miss the place now, as I think I took it for granted!

As a kid I would go to the park, use the leisure facilities and now every time that I go back something has been changed or updated, like the cinema or the leisure centre. The place will always be special to me and I know there is nowhere else quite like it - nowhere else will quite live up to it.

... There are lovely cafes and restaurants and it's a wonderful place to just browse. I fell in love with Horsham on my first visit and wouldn't live anywhere else.

Everyone who lives in Horsham seems to be very proud of the town and this is evident by the way it is looked after, it is clean and well kept and has a wonderful friendly atmosphere. If you are thinking of live here go for it, you won't regret it.

The leisure facilities are absolutely top-notch (especially the Pavilions in the Park complex). The shopping isn't bad with quite a few independent shops. There are some very picturesque villages nearby and it's easy to get to London or Brighton.

I moved here from London a year ago. Prices are ever so slightly cheaper, the air is cleaner and best of all, the people are incredibly friendly.

Although there are no good clothes shops or places to go out at night, there are EXCELLENT schools and leisure facilities, plus easy access to london and brighton.

The atmopsphere is classy, trendy and chic and it is generally safe. People take pride in Horsham and its surroundings and it has a great family environmemnt.

I am a relative newcomer of 6 years standing. Having travelled the country and latterly the world, it is amazing that I have settled in a place that I had never even visited before, yet it feels more like home than anywhere else I have lived.

No hustle and bustle, clean air, good places to eat out, quaint pubs, lots of greenery, pleasant people, low crime and lots of joggers!

Why live in the city? If you want London then it is only an hour away on the train, as is Brighton!

The town is beautiful, full of character and very clean. After renting in Crawley for two years I saved up to get my foot on the ladder and have now bought a flat in the town, which I feel will be a very good investment - especially with City workers looking further and further afield for idyllic places to own a home, within an hour of London.

I work in Piries wine bar and in the Royal & Sun Alliance Buildings. The property I rent is several hundred years old with beautiful beams, but too small for me, so I am looking to move somewhere else in Horsham. Horsham is a lovely place to live, even for the young (me - 22)! I am currently seeking a job...property & employment, that's what it's all about! Cheers, Ben.

...(nice big park, swimming pool being redeveloped, lots of safe, clean play areas) and the local authority is quite good at things like collecting recycleable waste and schemes to reduce landfill. There is a good range of arts activity - the arts centre is active and the cinema has all the latest release films.

The only thing is really lacks is a bigger range of pleasant places to eat out - there are a few pizza/pasta style places and the usual take aways but not much else. A few nice pubs though - the Black Jug, for instance.

...and I think its a great place to live! It's just my kind of town and there are loads of good shops, restaurants and coffee bars!

Close to the country, with a large park in the town centre, local pay and play golf, nature reserve and farm areas, it is perfect for those who enjoy walking, cycling, riding, golf etc.

The shopping centre is good - plenty of choice between large high street chains (M&S, BHS, Next, Monsoon) plus some unique small shops including The Cheese Shop, antiques and antiquarian book shops, small boutiques etc. Wide choice of cafes and restaurants including French, Thai, Chinese, Indian and good pub food out of town in villages.

Sports enthusiasts can find tennis, golf, athletics, football, cricket etc. Excellent primary and secondary schools, with single sex secondary education available. Girls school has language college status.

Lots of local initiatives to make things more pleasant such as Horsham in Bloom, Saturday Farmers Market, Horsham Festival, bandstand events in the main square (Carfax) etc. Good place to live for families, older people but perhaps a little quiet for young singles, although plenty of bars and pubs and one night club!

The council put a lot of effort into flowers, christmas decorations etc, and it always looks idyllic. Shopping is quite poor - need to get to Brighton or Crawley for clothes shopping, other than that it has every shop you need.

It's quiet though, lots of pubs, only a few decent ones - nothing in the way of night life. But London and Brighton are not far on train, and most people tend to go there for big nights out. Lots of young people, sports facilities currently being upgraded, a few decent restaurants around, but for better quality eating, there are tons of surrounding villages with more exclusive venues that do fantastic food. Any of the local/country type pubs will be warm, welcoming, offering traditional fare.

Basically - great commuter spot, not for the very young as a very quiet town, great for families and those wanting to settle down. Only trouble is the usual Friday/Saturday too-much-to-drink crowd, but police always on hand and on look out.

Town is covered by CCTV and all services are located to town centre - Police, Fire, Hospital. Property is very expensive to buy and rent, and hence the majority of the population work in the town to be able to live here!
