I am a born and bread Maidonian who loves the surrounding villages and Riverside towns of Cookham, Marlow and Henley, only 10 - 15 minutes drive away…
…You might even bump into a celebrity. Lots of employment opportunities, clubs, excellent schools, sporting facilities, cinema, award winning restaurants, shopping centre is moaned about a lot but should get improved soon... Let's bring back the heart to the town centre!

Great village in between Windsor and Maidenhead ...
... Really good village community with a good local primary school and pre-school. Also has 4 good local pubs a couple of which are child friendly with nice gardens and great food. There is also a good parade of local shops including chemist, post office, grocers and excellent butchers.
Generally a good area for families.

I refer to it as Maidenhead-on-Thames...
The river is wonderful, with great pubs and restaurants. Also good train line into Paddo, so shopping and nights out on the town are very convenient. Shopping in Maidenhead has everything you need on a week to week basis.
It may not be the best shopping town, but it has enough to get you by without attracting loads of outsiders who would cause congestion etc. I love it here and would recommend to everyone.

Lived her for past 4 years but, been in area for 28...
Location = great, if there was no traffic.
People = v.diverse, the usual council estate peeps (north/west) vs posh wanna-be's (south-east).
Cost = expensive. If you can afford Maidenhead, look in windsor instead. :)

I'm 22, and have lived in Maidenhead all my life...
Now looking at a 1st time buy in the area, which although quite difficult financially, is worth the effort and planning for everything that Maidenhead has to offer.
There is a great sense of community and a great mix of country and town life, from the Thames to the centre of town. Easy to commute anywhere in London, great access to major motorways, M25, M4, M3 & M40 - what more do you want? ;-)

I have lived in Maidenhead for 26 years...
...and it offers so much...from Nightlife to a walk by the beautiful river Thames.
Plenty of places to shop, to eat, to drink, to be entertained. And last of all peaceful.

Hi - I've lived in Maidenhead all my life and I think it's one of the most fantastic places ever!
I mean it's a community-based place but there's fun for everyone, e.g there's cool places for teenagers like discos, the youth club, Megabowl, the Magnet etc. So if you're moving here, whether you've got young children or teenagers, you are single, married or even elderly this is the place to be.

I moved to Maidenhead eighteen years ago for it's geographic location to relatives and ease of commuting to West London....
Whilst shopping is limited it is that which retains part of the character of the town. The proximity to the river and open country are the icing on the cake for me.
It must be okay if so many of the rich and famous live here.
