…Lovely community feel with a decent sized town up the road in Guildford and beautiful countryside on the doorstep.

I think Godalming is a lovely friendly town...
... because it got lots of nice shops and old buildings and the houses look very nice. I would not mind living in Godalming when I'm 25 - 30. I love Godalming lots.

I was born in Godalming but moved to London when I married in 1940 owing to lack of work at that time...
I miss the beautiful countryside but I am lucky to still have relatives living in the Godalming and Farncombe areas so I still visit regularly. Hopefully one day I will live once again in this beautiful part of Surrey.

Godalming is just the right size...
It is a well kept and panoramic town with a lot of history - Titanic's wireless operator, Founding of American State of Georgia, etc.
If I could afford the property prices I would live there! Sadly, I cannot on a teacher's salary! I lived at the boarding school nearby.

We have lived in the town for nearly three years, and find it to be a charming town with good shops...
...and easy access to both local Guildford High Street and by A3 or rail to the West End and City of London. Good choice of schools and sporting and recreational facilities. Situated in the countryside and an hour from the sea and sailing centres.
There are local flying clubs at Blackbushe and Goodwood, so every taste is accommodated. The Wey affords river activities flowing through Godalming with a boathouse at nearside Farncombe. A great area for family life at every age with societies and organisations to cover nearly every pursuit and interest. Godalming is a town recommended for all.
