Chertsey is one of the oldest towns in England, hence receiving the title "Historical Town of Chertsey"…
…Its history can be traced back to the medieval times.
I moved from Twickenham in 1998 and really enjoy living here. It is so much more peaceful than where we used to live...less noise fromaeroplanes!

Lived here for about six years and love it…
…The family have never been happier. Moved here from Islington. Much happier in a nice house with riverside walks for the kids and local pubs and restaurants to take the wife. She loves the Saturday market and the friendliness of the community. Brilliant place to live. Really settled in here. Love it.

We moved here from Battersea five years ago and never looked back…
…The kids love it and there's no threat of drugs or gun crime. It's a real community and people always say hello. Always loved being by the river and I still love it.

Brilliant, never been happier…
…It's got open green spaces, the river Thames, bars, pubs, restaurants, local market and transport links to London by car or train and a stones throw from Gatwick and Heathrow.
Everyone's really friendly. Local schools are great and if you need bigger shopping, Staines, Weybridge and Kingston are a just bus ride away.

I have frequented Chertsey since the 1960s, and lived there for 23 years prior to moving to Shepperton…
…I still have a house in the town (not a village!), which I propose to rent out. I lived in Shepperton for 30 years, and I feel little for the place, although it's quite attractive; but I came to love Chertsey.
My house is in the conservation area. There are nice open spaces, but the Bourne should be cleared of reeds more often. Good Sainsburys but the other shops lack variety. Good pubs.

Historical, charming village, in between Weybridge and Shepperton ...
... Nice period houses, nice pubs on the river, lovely countryside walks. I moved from Ottershaw in 1989 and bought in Chertsey as my job required commuting into London. We have lived here for over 15 years and love the place.

Chertsey is beautiful. I think it’s a lovely village with so much character and history ...
... In my opinion, it is one of the finest areas to live in Surrey with its cool bars, excellent I.T. industry and transport links. The floor tiles in Westminster Abbey came from Chertsey and that is some real history!

Chertsey in Surrey is a lovely place to live. It has excellent transport links, lovely bars and a superb I.T. industry ...
... We would highly recommend living here, especially if you are looking to get away from the grinds of city life. I used to live in Hammersmith and travel by London underground tube to my job in the city, but moving to Chertsey has been the best move I made. In Chertsey not only do you get fresher, cleaner air but it’s so much more quieter and relaxed.
I sold my house in Hammersmith and bought a lovely 3 bed Victorian house in Chertsey which has beautiful high ceilings. I even get to park my car into my own driveway. I still travel into London from Chertsey train station but it's so nice coming back home in the evenings.
Surrey is just so much more open and nicer to live in than London. What’s more everything is local - Sainsburys, Riverbourne gym, lovely parks. We would never move from here - even our 2 children have now become used to the Surrey way of life! We would definitely recommend Chertsey to anybody.

Chertsey is a very nice part of Surrey ...
... Very historical, with some very beautiful character Victorian houses, especially around Abbey Road and Eastworth Road. You get a lot more living space for what you pay in comparison to Weybridge which is only 2 miles down the road.
I prefer to live in Chertsey than say Walton on Thames as it is quieter and has a more relaxed village feeling to it. Its also excellent for the commuter using the M25 - once the train line to Waterloo becomes a direct service, Chertsey will overcome Weybridge as it is has more elegance.

I was born & bred in Chertsey and its a wonderful friendly town seeped in history yet moving forward with the times
I moved to out of the family home to neighbouring Addlestone but am always on the look out for a home in Chertsey where I hope to spend out the rest of my days.

I've lived in Chertsey all my life...
I think it has started to become an up and coming town due to the redevelopment and new people coming in.

I moved to Chertsey in April 2003 and really love it...
The town centre has virtually everything you could need and it has a very friendly atmosphere. Wine bars and pubs are great - especially 163 which is located in the old town hall. Chertsey has lots of character too with a museum and a large church in the town centre, and the deserted abbey site.

I have just bought in Chertsey and I am very happy there...
...we really enjoy the friendly small-town atmosphere that Chertsey has to offer. We are really excited about the new developments that are going ahead. The river being so close is also a bonus for picnics and relaxing etc. There are good facilities for all. The M25 J11 is perfect access for me going to Crawley everyday & the traffic is not bad either.

Chertsey was always going to get the spill of property seekers from it's sleek neighbour Weybridge....
With the new investment in the renovation projects and the introduction of many large global IT company offices, Chertsey is going to become the "new" Weybridge with slick restaurants and wine bars. It's the place to buy at the moment especially when it is going to get a direct train service into Waterloo in the next two years.

I have lived in Chertsey for 7 years and have never been happier in a small town...
It is a very friendly place with good pubs, restaurants and the wine bar (Windsors). The local people are so friendly. There is a real sense of a good community - people like getting involved and helping.
It is easy to walk to anywhere in the town and the motorway links are excellent, too.
I wouldn't leave!

I bought a flat in Chertsey town centre in 2000 and lived there before subsequently moving out due to a job change...
I now let it out my flat as an investment property. I find the location excellent, with easy access to the supermarket, local shops, train station, gym/swimming pool and the growing number of trendy restaurants and bars. I think this town is an exciting place to have invested in with its rapidly expanding I.T-related local economy, its historical and very attractive town centre.
Its location between Virginia Water and Weybridge makes it a popular choice for many families and young people that have been "priced out" of the housing market in those towns. The projected improvements in public transport to central London make this an outstanding area for investment and development and the fact that this central town area is listed as a "conservation area" means that this will not be redeveloped but rather enhanced.

I have lived in Chertsey for the past 2 years...
I have found it to be a quiet town that is undergoing many improvements, both to the properties and consequently the social aspects. With new restaurants and bars opening, to support the growth in technology-based companies moving to the local area.
Chertsey is perfectly located for London, Heathrow, the commuter belt, & perfect for golf enthusiasts!!!

I lived in Chertsey for the last 5 years...
Beautiful quiet little town. Shopping is O.K, (Sainsbury, Woolworth and some high street shops) but the Centre is dominated by charity shops. A brand new health club has recently opened which is by membership, but the pool is also open to the public.
Schools in the area are average. Pyrcroft Grange Primary has a PH-unit.
The River Bourne runs through (and Thames touches) Chertsey and have caused some local flooding this year. Much of Chertsey is part of the Urban Flooding plain for the Thames in Surrey.
