... Still with village feel and the highest position looking down over London makes for fresher air. Lived here happily for over 10 years.

... I grew up there in the late 50s early 60s and attended the local primary and secondary schools before my family moved to Cornwall, where I have lived since. Our family home was in Lime Meadow Avenue, close to the beautiful Kingswood.

We liked the peace and quiet in this leafy suburb coupled with a fast commute by train to the centre of London.

I may have moved from this great little suburb but I still come back and say hi. It's a great area, full of lots of hidden charms.

One day I hope to move back if I'm still working in or around London.

There are great walks at Selsdon vale, Croham woods and a great shopping centre.

I now live in Dorset in one of the most expensive areas around the world you can't find a property under 5 million around us.

I would love to move back to Sanderstead but we moved due to my golf and other reasons.

It is so convenient, good bus service, local amenities, close to Croydon, London and the coast. It is leafy, green and offers good playing fields . The schools are great and friendly, and so are the people.

I can't believe that house prices have stayed so low. Commuting is easy - less than 30 mins to West End or City. Evenings & Weekends I can leave my house and be sitting in a West End restaurant 45 mins later. 4 golf courses within 10 mins drive. Countryside & farmland 10 mins away.

No pubs as this was banned by Quakers who sold the land for development. Pleasant residents, little crime and graffitti. Welcoming and friendly.

There is something quite appealing about the way that leafy mock-tudor avenues climb the steep contours of the slopes. A big bonus, property prices in the area are marginally cheaper than in 'provincial' Surrey, and a great deal more reasonable than in nearby Kingston.

There is a lovely park, good junior schools and a friendly parade of shops where you can buy most things. It feels as though you are in the countryside but Croydon is only 10 minutes by car and London 20 minutes by train.
