Great transport links, a stones throw from Wimbledon, Kingston in another…
…It's surrounded by great areas and the only way is up for New Malden.
It's a fantastic place to live and really good to bring up a family. The High Street has all the shops you need although it's a little old fashioned, but that's what makes the town so great!
New Malden... most recommended.

Good shopping and leisure facilities in Town Centre ...
... Property varies significantly by area – best, but most expensive areas are to the north of the station. Local girls schools much better than boys, which are poor unless your children are lucky enough to get into Tiffins.

Great area. Good people ...
... Kingston, New Malden, Wimbledon all nearby. Area much better than South London and 10-15% cheaper than Clapham, Balham and 20% lower prices than Wimbledon.

I have lived in New Malden for nearly 16 years and New Malden was always the best located town around the south west of London ...
... The people are the best around, no racism or harassment from all community. New Malden has many communities, specially Koreans who are very friendly and are always minding their own business, but they are always participating in every aspect of community work. It's just great to live here.

We recently had some guests stay from the south pacific and they called New Malden a "little treasure" ...
... They were right, of course. One of the most friendly towns in Greater London/Surrey with excellent access to central London, Wimbledon and Kingston. New Malden has everything you could immediately need and a real 'village' atmosphere.

The town has improved beyond my wildest dreams!
I moved to New Malden in 1976 from Wimbledon because a four-bedroom house was affordable here. The town has improved beyond my wildest dreams and is now in many ways nicer than Wimbledon.

I've recently moved to the area and love it...
The centre is known as the "village" by locals and it certainly does seem to have that community feeling. The bus and train service is great. The high street provides me with my basics and Wimbledon/Kingston are just 10 mins away. Lots of work is being done to improve the look of the high street - this place is one to watch...

We are going to move to New Malden and found all those comments very helpful...
I agree totally with everything I read so far - it's a quieter part of London but with access to all the entertainment and shopping that Kingston and Wimbledon provide.
We were originally looking to buy property in Kingston or Surbiton but found that house prices were extremely high and didn't necessarily match up the standard of properties. Therefore we decided to expand our search and started looking in New Malden. We are so glad we did!

Living in New Malden is great...
We moved here last summer and it has loads of trains per hour to Waterloo which is excellent when you're commuting. However, not only is it quick to get into the city, it's perfect for being able to escape out of London - only minutes down the road and you're in the heart of fantastic countryside.
In addition, I've been really impressed by the friendly people who live in the area. One of the best value-for-money areas of South West London!

New Malden is a fantastic area to live in...
The people are friendly, there is a nice spread of cultures accross the town too. Houses seem to be booming in prices due to the conveniant location it lies in, with the A3 and both Wimbledon and Kingston within a mile distance. London Waterloo station is only 18 minutes away.
Ideal investment purchases here, especially larger 4 to 5 bedroom houses with large gardens, proving to be very popular among family's and student sharers.

We have just moved to New Malden and already feel totally at home...
The people are really friendly and although it's near to all that London has to offer, there is a real sense of community and I do feel like I've escaped the rat race when I get off the train at night. The high street has all the basics you need and Kingston and Wimbledon shopping are only 10 minutes away. I couldn't recommended it highly enough for those who want all the amenities of London close to hand but also don't want to be living in the middle of it.

A good place to base yourself if you work in London because...
...it has mainline railway, with trains almost every 10 minutes, it has 3 access roads to A3, the M25 is within easy access, London is 25 minutes on the train, and access to Wimbledon and Kingston in about 10 minutes. The town centre is a bit drab but seems to be coming up, new Boots and Woolworth superstore - could do with some modernisation though.

I have lived in New Malden since I was around 4 years old (I am 21 now)...
What can I say about the place? I have many good friends here and my family has been very happy. New Malden is in a very good location, 20 minutes from Central London (without delays of course!) and near Wimbledon (where I went to school) and Kingston (where I went to College).
Recently there have been many improvements, such as the new gym, some bars and the like but we would like some more. New Malden is not the most lively of towns, but it combines the advantages of being near London without the disadvantages of city life. An S-W postcode and an underground link would be nice though!

I came to New Malden back in 1990 when England was in its recession years...
Back then it struck me as a grey and somewhat backwards little community.
10 years later this little Surrey town has drastically improved, offering an easy to access High Street with trendy restaurants, colourful pubs and renovated and refurbished shops and supermarkets.
Waitrose and the reborn Safeway superstore offer everything you need at affordable prices and even the local "Woolies" has turned into a bright, modern superstore.
With good connections to London and Kingston and Wimbledon around the corner, New Malden is ideally located: a quiet, children-friendly and very residential South-
West London community that has transferred its new-found charm right into the new millennium.
Ten years I've been here and I am not ready to move yet!

We were struck by how incredibly friendly people were...
...2½ years later we are looking to move again and feel New Malden is worth staying on for.
It may not be the most interesting of towns but has all the key amenities.

I have lived in New Malden all my life...
...and seen it develop from a quiet village to a bustling family town. It has recently attracted many Koreans and Sri Lankans and acquired an international flavour.
There is negligible crime (the police station even closed!) and it is a perfect mix of suburban serenity and commercial convenience. It is excellent for schools and is near Kingston which is a major Surrey centre.
