...We have been here now over 6 years and have found that it is great for links to everywhere, but out of the hustle.

Great river locations. The schools are plentiful and very good, Sunbury manor being the first humanitarian school.

Quite nice people, no trouble or anything like that. 24 hour Tesco close by which is so handy.

... Should you get bored, the pretty villages of Shepperton, Charlton, Littleton and Laleham are also there to explore. It’s got everything and all within 10 minutes of your front door.

It is a very pretty area and house prices are still reasonable. There is a plethora of schools in the area, not sure how they perform on league tables but the kids seem polite enough. Sunbury suffers a little from a lack of chi chi restaurants! As long as you want Chinese or Indian then you're ok! What Sunbury does have is the river with stunning views and pretty riverside pubs.

The train into Waterloo is one of the down sides - only 2 trains an hour and it takes about 55 minutes to get into Waterloo.

All in all though I'd say it's a good place to invest if you're looking to start a family. Not rough, large affordable housing and the riverside.

There is never any trouble and it's a brilliant place to bring children up. Everyone is friendly.

I grew up there myself and sadly had to move away but I would go back there tomorrow if I could!

The Riverside Arts Centre, Kempton Park, Hampton Court, Windsor and Heathrow airport. All these places are easy to get to by public transport or car, roads are excellent, M3, M4 and main line rail station a bus ride away.

Sunbury is one of the best places to live. You have best of both worlds. Should you like London's buzz you will be there in about 40 minutes. Should you like a quite walk near the river, you can be there in about 5 - 10 minutes. The crime rate is really low, which is very reassuring. You are always welcome to our place. ...with easy access to green belt areas and local amenities such as Chessington, Richmon Park, Legoland etc. You can get to London in 15 mins and there is easy access the M3 and M4 motorways.

The night life in Kingston, Staines, Twickenham and Richmond is second to none, but without the crime factor affecting most London districts. I grew up in Hampstead, N. London and moving to Sunbury-On-Thames was one of the best things we did.

The govt go ahead for Heathrow T5 is starting to push up prices already so better escape the smog and traffic of London before prices start to approach those of Twickenham and Richmond.

David Withers, Sunbury-On-Thames.
