…Lots of food places, very clean, quiet, NO "hoodies" fantastic transport inc various buses and good train connections. Teacher training college, athletics - British and Kenyan track stars often seen on the streets training, very quiet and relaxed area, friendly people.

…It has a friendly village atmosphere, is very near the River Thames and Bushy Park and yet has a London quality about it.

It has its own swimming pool, library, Arts Centre and local independently owned shops. There is very little reason to leave the town.  A really wonderful place to live.

... 1 hr by train to Gatwick, less by bus to Heathrow, and easy access to central London. Just over an hour to the South Coast, driving down the M3. The multitude of good restaurants, and pubs, the open space- Bushy park and the river walks are very convenient, and great for cycling.

We believe no area in London could beat the 'feel good factor' of walking down Teddington High Street with our 3 year old on a sunny day to feed the ducks in the Thames, and back for a quick play in the park before getting a bite to eat in one of the child friendly restaurants.

…Bushy Park and River Thames within walking distance of town centre. Very good state primary schools and a soon to be built secondary school with sixth form.

I have lived here for six years and wouldn't live anywhere else in Greater London.

... State Schools are above average and critically do have spaces. Property prices rising rapidly. Only 15 mins drive down the A3 from Putney / Wimbledon / Tube connections to central London. 24hr Tesco / Asda only a short drive away. Residents are friendly and welcoming. Nice quiet place to make your dream home.

One of the reasons we moved out of London was the over-crowding and pushing & shoving every-where you go. Chessington is a more laid back, chilled out life style and perfectly placed for enjoyable shopping experiences in Kingston / Epsom / Surbiton & Guildford. We love it here and would never consider going back to the "smoke".

Close to the river, great shops and pubs. Great transport links, couldn't ask for more really.

Word On The Street: Teddington

Excellent access to central London; great open spaces with Bushy Park, and the Thames towpath; fantastic arts and heritage facilities very close by and really good shops, both that you can walk to, and then a mile down the road in Kingston. Our primary schools are the best in the country. I wouldn't live any where else.

Village atmosphere, lots of restaurants, close to a major shopping centre, close to busy park and Thames, load of places to walk to and to go to without the need to drive.

Good connections by public transport, 30mins by trains to London. Within easy reach of five public swimming pools, several golf courses, two race tracks, and motorways south. Some of the top state schools in the country. It's a great place to live.
