Members' Survey of Private Rented Sector (PRS) Q3 2009: Key Points
 | - Almost a third (33 per cent) of ARLA members surveyed felt that supply and demand of rental property is in balance in Q3 2009 compared to just 19 per cent last quarter.
- 83 per cent of ARLA members signed up 10 or more tenancies during Q3 compared to 79 per cent in the second quarter.
- The number of members who believe that there are more homes for rent than there are tenants to fill them dropped from 70 per cent to 43 per cent.
- The number letting agents who say that there are more tenants than properties has risen from 10 per cent to 24 per cent.
- In the rest of South East England (excluding London), this figure rose to 27 per cent compared to just 9.0 per cent in Q2.
- The average length of time for a rental property to remain empty has fallen from 4.3 weeks in May to 4.0 weeks in September.
