Lack Of Space Is Most Common Reason For Moving
A recent Co-operative Bank survey looked at people's attitudes to buying and selling, and their reasons for moving in the current housing market.
Here are the key findings:
 | - A third of respondents (35 per cent) are not prepared to drop their asking price at all in the current housing market.
- Only one in ten respondents would offer full asking price on the property they are looking to buy (12 per cent).
- Lack of space (27 per cent) was the biggest reason given for people wanting to move home.
- Most respondents were looking for a detached house (28 per cent), with only nine per cent looking for terraced houses.
- Over half (54 per cent) said they had become more optimistic about the housing market recently, with a third (29 per cent) stating that this optimism had started within the last month.
